The UK Golf Course Owners Association has been created by a group of golf course owners that have felt for some time that the interests of owners have not been voiced in the golf industry forums in the past.
The UKGCOA has been set up with four key objectives:
- To promote, develop and represent the interests of golf course owners
in the United Kingdom, - To play an active and positive role in the growth of the game of golf,
- To act as a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences, and
- To professionalise the golf business in the United Kingdom
Golf facilities that are owned by individuals, families, landowners, municipal authorities, syndicates and club members are all welcome to apply for membership of the UKGCOA.
The UKGCOA will be affiliated to the European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA), and will be working with our colleagues on the continent on issues that affect the industry.
Among the first to support the creation of the UKGCOA was the English Golf Union:
"The English Golf Union is pleased to see the emergence of the UK Golf Course Owners Association. The EGU look forward to developing a close working relationship with the UKGCOA and to work together in the development of the game of golf".
